15 Steps To Writing An Order Pulling Sales Letter

1. Your Headline

Your headline does one thing. Either keeps your visitor reading or sends them walking away. You HAVE to come up with an attention getting headline in order to make sales. End of story. There are several sources online that will help you create an awesome headline.

2. Introduction

This comes right after your headline. You need to summarize in the shortest amount of time possible all the BENEFITS your reader will have by doing whatever it is that you want them to do. That is buy your product, download something, join your mailing list, etc. This is the second most important part of your sales letter. If your headline caught their attention, your introduction has to make your reader want to keep on reading. The very last sentence of your introduction must entice them to keep reading. Use a sentence like:
So, if you want to know the secrets to becoming rich keep reading...
I'm getting ready to show you how I became a #1 sales letter writer...

3. Testimonial

Make people believe what you are saying. Testimonials are a great way to do that. PLEASE don't use fake ones. They are so easy to spot.

4. Why?

Now you have to tell the reader why they just absolutely have to do what you want them to do. That is buy your product, download something, join your mailing list, etc.

5. This is where you really have to shine. Your reader has stuck on your page for a while now reading your sales letter. Give them a reward. It doesn't have to be a free offer or bonus. Just something that makes them feel like you have given them a little something for coming to your site. Like a tip or an insider secret.

6. Making them believe.

Don't be afraid to list your credentials or why they should buy your product or service (features). Just make sure you tell them why your credentials or the features of your product should make them buy your product or service (benefits)!

*RULE OF THUMB: The features are what your product or service does. The benefits are what your customer will get from using the feature!

7. More Testimonials

I'm telling you something that you have to remember. Write it down or whatever you have to do to remember, but in today's world NO ONE is going to buy from you if they don't trust you. They have to know that others before them have bought from you. That's gives them more assurance and hopefully enough trust to buy from you.

8. Summarize Your Introduction

Go over again all the benefits your reader will have by doing whatever it is that you want them to do. That is buy your product, download something, join your mailing list, etc. Explain a little more than you did in the first introduction.

9. Tell Them!

Now tell them what to do. Pick up the phone and call ______________ and you will get ________________. Click here to order and you will get _________________. Click on the link below to order and you will get ____________________________. I know it sounds ridiculous, but you have to tell your reader exactly what to do.

10. BOUNS time.

How many times have you bought a product just for the bonuses? I know I have. I've even bought a product before because the person had so many bonuses that I felt like I was getting such a huge deal that I just COULD NOT pass it up!! Use your bonuses wisely though. Just like with any freebie, make sure it is a quality bonus that even you yourself would be happy to get. NO JUNK!!!

11. Provide A Guarantee

A lot of people don't like to do this. However, if your buyer has any doubt buy now and they have come this far in your sales page, they are not going to buy. Give them a 100% money back guarantee, and that will be enough to push them to buy from you. GUARANTEED!

12. The P.S.

The P.S. should be like your second headline. Yes, it is that important. Several people will skim your newsletter, but will read your P.S. to find out exactly what you are offering and for how much. Use a P.S. like this:

P.S. If you're ready to start making your business more successful today, then you need to get (your product or service here) right now for only $(your price here). Your business will benefit greatly with (your product or service here), and for only $(your price here) it's a win-win situation for you!

13. Contact

Make your contact details easily accessible. Put your name, address, phone number, email address, instant messenger information, website address, any way possible for people to be able to get in touch with you.

14. Tell them AGAIN!!

Tell them again what to do to order. Just like in step # 9 Except this time make sure they know that they need to get your product or service RIGHT NOW! Make it a time sensitive offer, or tell them you are only offering X number of your product or service. Whatever you do to make them order, make sure it is legit. If you say such and such offer will expire at 9 p.m. make sure it does just that!

15. Atleast get their contact info!

If you can't get the visitor to buy your product, atleast give them something for free. In doing this tell them if they will subscribe to your mailing list, you will give them certain bonuses. I have converted non-buyers into buyers using this method over and over. You may not have what they want today, but you may have it tomorrow!!

A few more tips on your salesletter...

  • KEEP IT SIMPLE - Sometimes when we write too much we tend to confuse the reader. Keep your salesletter nice and simple. Use short sentences and short paragraphs. You have to make your salesletter as descriptive as possible, but don't over do it.

  • Write your salesletter as if you were talking to your customer. Tell your customer what they will gain by buying your product or service.

  • Statistics online show that a big percentage of buyers don't go through with the order once they get to the order form or shopping cart. You can keep your customers from doing this by not giving them any distractions. Your order page should have NO adverts on it at all. There should be no outside links, unless you want to send a buying customer somewhere else. That's okay if your making more money at the somewhere else, but once I write a salesletter, I want anyone who reads it and then goes to my order form to buy it, to do exactly that. BUY IT!

  • Aftermaking any claim about your product or service try to get into the mind of your reader. What will they be thinking after your make your big claim? What would you say after you read a big claim on a sales letter page? Use sentences like:

"Yes, everyone else is saying this about their (product or service)...." or "You probably think I'm just feeding you a line of crap..." or "I know this sounds crazy...."

You then need to get those negative thoughts out of the way by following up with some kind of proof of your statement. Use sentences like:

"Give me just 3 minutes and I'll show you..." or "I can prove this to you..."

Let me put it all together for you so you can see what I mean:

(Example:) "By reading this ebook, you'll have the know how to promote any product you wish to develop. I know you've heard this claim before, however I'm going to prove it to you in just a moment..."

By doing the above you are pulling your reader through your newsletter. You must "pull" your reader through your entire sales letter. Make them want to keep reading, and you will then get the outcome you are looking for from them. Which is, making it to the bottom of your sales letter, so they will buy from you or atleast join your mailing list.
